A Former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Titus Glover, has claimed that former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu may not serve her full 10-year prison sentence, predicting that she could receive a presidential pardon within months.

Speaking on the former MASLOC boss's extradition and imprisonment, Glover said he would not be surprised if the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) intervenes to secure her early release.

“The case is that I am sure they will give her some presidential pardon. She has to serve for some time but knowing the NDC and their style and the way they do their stuff, I will not be surprised if in the next six months or so they call it off,” he said, according to a report by adomonline.com on June 10, 2026.

Glover's comments come just a day after Attionu was extradited from the United States to begin serving a 10-year jail term imposed by the Accra High Court after she was convicted in absentia.

He suggested that political considerations could ultimately influence how long Attionu remains behind bars, although he did not provide evidence to support his claim.

Attionu arrived in Ghana on June 9 aboard United Airlines flight UA 996 from Washington Dulles International Airport and was immediately taken into custody by security officials.

Her return followed a prolonged extradition process after she failed to return to Ghana from a medical trip to the United States while standing trial.

In 2024, the Accra High Court sentenced her to 10 years' imprisonment for causing financial loss to the state and stealing.

The court found that her actions during her tenure as MASLOC CEO between 2013 and 2016 caused a financial loss of nearly GH¢90 million to the state.

Meanwhile, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has disclosed that officials of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Prisons Service have taken Tamakloe-Attionu into custody following her arrival in the country.
