A video has emerged on social media showing the moment a motorbike rider and his pillion rider were swept away by fast-moving floodwaters at an undisclosed location in Accra after attempting to cross a heavily flooded road.
The footage, shared by We Love Ghana on June 10, 2026, shows the pair entering what looks like a submerged roadway on a motorbike.
Despite the obvious danger of the rising water, they proceeded.

Within a few seconds, they were being carried away by the flood waters.
However, it is not clear whether they survived.
The incident comes at a time when several parts of Accra and Tema have been experiencing severe flooding following heavy rains.
Areas such as Darkuman, Adabraka, Alajo, and Christian Village have all reported submerged streets, stranded commuters, and significant disruption to daily activity as drainage systems are overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has instructed the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other agencies to compile a comprehensive report on flooding across the country.
The move forms part of efforts to identify high-risk zones and guide both emergency response and long-term flood prevention measures.
