Mother of the missing baby who spoke to the journalist
The mother of the baby who has allegedly gone missing at the Salaga Government Hospital has spoken about the disappearance of her newborn, who was reportedly taken away immediately after delivery.
According to earlier reports, the Salaga District Police Commander, DSP Gabriel Alorsey, said two midwives from the hospital had been arrested for baby theft.
He explained that the suspects, a male and a female midwife, are currently giving inconsistent versions of events surrounding the disappearance of the newborn baby.
However, speaking with a TV3 reporter after the incident on June 11, 2026, the mother of the child narrated that after giving birth, hospital staff refused to let her family see the baby.
She further claimed the child was unwell and the nurses on duty instructed her husband to buy medicine.

The mother said she later asked her family about the baby’s whereabouts and was told the child had been taken to the children’s ward.
However, when she went there, she did not find her baby.
"When I gave birth, my child was taken away, and my family was not allowed to see the baby. I was told the child was unwell and that my husband should buy medicine. After he brought it, the baby was treated, but still not returned to me," she disclosed.
“I am so worried that my child wasn’t given to me,” she lamented, raising fears about the handling of newborns and the transparency of care in such situations.

The mother, identified as Priscilla (wife of Kofi Simon), was admitted to the hospital around 3:00 am while in labour.
She allegedly gave birth to a baby girl between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.
Family members say the newborn was taken away shortly after delivery.
Relatives, including Balik Majik Ebenezer (brother of the father), said the baby’s grandmother and father were also denied access to see the newborn.
When Priscilla was transferred to the ward without her baby, alarm bells rang, and a nurse reportedly told the family she thought the mother had taken the baby out for breastfeeding, but checks confirmed the infant was missing.
