Prof Ransford Gyampo is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Prof Ransford Gyampo, has asserted that the case involving former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, should serve as a lesson for public office holders and political appointees.
According to him, government officials must remain conscious of the consequences of their actions while in office, particularly as administrations change over time.
Speaking on The KeyPoints on TV3 on Saturday, June 13, 2026, Prof Gyampo urged appointees to ensure strict adherence to due process, especially in the award of contracts and management of public resources.
“Serve in a manner that is mindful of what is likely to happen tomorrow,” he stated.
He further stressed that while the legal process involving Sedina Tamakloe Attionu continues, her rights under the rule of law must be fully respected, including her right to seek bail and appeal court decisions.

Also contributing to the discussion, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, said the rule of law must be allowed to take its course in the matter.
He questioned why some individuals who welcomed Tamakloe Attionu’s conviction were now expressing concerns about the legal processes surrounding her appeal.
“The Government of Ghana pressured the Americans to bring her. Let us all maintain that it is the rule of law that got her convicted but let us see the outcome of the bail application,” he said.
Tameklo further argued that the case was part of what he described as a politically motivated effort by the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to implicate officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
