IShowSpeed is a popular American streamer
Popular streamer iShowSpeed has once again captured the internet's attention, this time with a bold and clearly humorous declaration that he will be playing at the 2030 FIFA World Cup for either Ghana, the United States, or Portugal.
The 21-year-old, who has amassed millions of followers online, made the comments during a livestream where he reflected on his rapid rise from streaming at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to now being a global internet sensation.
"Four years ago, I was 17 and streaming at the World Cup. Now I'm 21, and I will be 25 in the next World Cup."
"In 2030, I'll be playing in the World Cup for Ghana, USA, or Portugal," he told Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
For context, iShowSpeed (real name Darren Watkins Jr.) was born in the United States, making him eligible to represent the USMNT.
His connection to Ghana, however, comes from his highly publicised Africa tour, during which he visited the country, embraced the local culture, and was given a Ghanaian name and a passport.
He has since developed a strong affinity for Ghana, often showing love for the Black Stars and the nation's football culture.
I’m going to play for Ghana at the 2030 World Cup.
