Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Saleh Sinare
A Special Aide to Ghana's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Saleh Sinare, has dismissed reports suggesting that the diplomat is critically ill and receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia.
According to Japhet Festus Gbede, the reports are false, malicious, and part of a deliberate attempt by political opponents to undermine Ambassador Sinare's growing support ahead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairmanship election.
In a statement issued on June 14, 2026, Gbede described the allegations as a "completely fabricated rumour" being circulated by what he termed "politically paralyzed propagandists" who have resorted to misinformation and character assassination because they are unable to match Ambassador Sinare's political credentials and grassroots appeal.
"Their latest falsehood is the laughable claim that H.E. Alhaji Said Saleh Sinare is critically ill and on admission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and therefore unfit to lead the NDC," the statement said.
The aide maintained that Ambassador Sinare remains healthy, politically active, and fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

"We wish to state categorically, unequivocally, and without the slightest ambiguity that Alhaji Said Saleh Sinare is hale, hearty, robustly fit, mentally sharp, politically active, and fully prepared to assume the mantle of National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress," the statement added.
The statement further argued that the circulation of the alleged rumours was motivated by concerns among some political actors about the increasing momentum surrounding Sinare's potential candidacy.
It accused unnamed individuals of abandoning issue-based campaigning in favour of what it described as propaganda and misinformation aimed at influencing delegates.
The aide urged party delegates and members of the NDC to disregard the claims and focus instead on the qualities required for effective leadership of the party.
"The National Chairmanship election will not be decided by gossip. It will not be decided by propaganda. It will be decided by credibility, competence, loyalty, experience, vision, and the capacity to unite and strengthen our great party," the statement noted.
The statement concluded by insisting that no amount of falsehood or political propaganda would diminish the reputation and standing of Ambassador Said Saleh Sinare within the NDC.
