Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, has disclosed that business executives are now perceived among the most corrupt institutions in Ghana, according to the June 2026 Corruption Perception Index.

In a post shared on X on June 15, 2026, Dankwah said the index ranked ministers and government officials, the presidency and the military among the least perceived corrupt institutions in the country.

He noted, however, that the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service remained the top two institutions perceived as most corrupt, although both recorded improved scores compared to previous assessments.

“The corruption perception index for June 2026 shows the least perceived corrupt institutions in Ghana are ministers/government officials, the presidency and the military. The most corrupt is still the Ghana Police, Ghana Immigration Service and now business executives who have sunk low for the first time,” he stated.

According to him, while ministers and government appointees recorded improved scores in the latest poll, the presidency saw a slight deterioration, moving from a score of 4.77 in March to 4.84 in June 2026.

Dankwah cautioned that the trend surrounding the presidency should be closely monitored.

“Though the Ghana Police Service and the Immigration Service retained the number one and two spots, their overall score improves, suggesting something good might be happening in those services. While ministers/government appointees score improved compared to last poll, the presidency actually deteriorated, moving from a low score of 4.77 in March to 4.84 in June 2026. They must be on the watchout,” he indicated.

The top 10 institutions perceived to be the most corrupt during the June 2026 period are the Police Service was scored (6.45), Immigration Service (5.69), business executives (5.45), the judiciary (5.41), the Ghana Revenue Authority (5.35), MMDA officials (5.24), traditional leaders (5.14), the Electoral Commission of Ghana (5.08), the Ghana Prisons Service (5.01) and Parliament (4.95).
