Titus Nii Kwartei Glover is a former Greater Accra Regional Minister
Former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Titus Nii Kwartei Glover, has reacted to the resignation of former Chief Justice and Council of State member, Sophia Akuffo.
Speaking on the development, Glover described Akuffo’s reported resignation from the Council of State as a ‘dent on government,’ suggesting that her decision may be linked to dissatisfaction with the process surrounding Justice Torkornoo’s removal.
“We all have ears and eyes and we know what is going on,” Glover said.
He argued that recent events point to deeper unease over the governance approach adopted in handling the matter.
According to a report by adomonline.com on June 15, 2026, Glover said Akuffo had openly demonstrated reservations during deliberations related to Torkornoo’s case.

He claimed that during proceedings before a committee, Akuffo, alongside Justice Anim Yeboah, expressed concerns over the process, insisting that what was being done was not right.
Glover further alleged that Akuffo’s decision to step down followed her dissatisfaction with how the matter was handled, noting that she reportedly abstained when the Council of State considered whether a prima facie case had been established against Torkornoo.
“The way you handled Torkornoo is on the neck of the NDC,” he said, while adding that he respected Sophia Akuffo’s decision to resign from the Council of State.
Sophia Akuffo, who served as Chief Justice from 2017 to 2020, is reported to have resigned from the 31-member Council of State after allegedly ceasing attendance at meetings following deliberations on Justice Torkornoo’s removal.
However, the exact reasons for her resignation remain unclear.
