Samuel Tettey is Deputy Chairman of Operations at the Electoral Commission
The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that the Deputy Chairman of Operations at the Electoral Commission (EC), Samuel Tettey, has retired, with processes underway to appoint his replacement.
He made the disclosure during a press conference on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Kwakye Ofosu explained that a nominee has already been submitted to the Council of State for consideration as part of the constitutional process for appointing a replacement.

“I can confirm that EC Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, has retired, and processes are underway for his replacement. Indeed, a name has been submitted to the Council of State, and they are currently considering the nominee,” he stated.
His remarks come amid recent developments at the Electoral Commission, following reports of changes within the leadership of the institution.
The Electoral Commission was established under the 1992 Constitution and the Electoral Commission Act, 1993 (Act 451), and is responsible for organising and conducting all public elections and referenda in Ghana.
The Commission also oversees the compilation and revision of the voters' register and ensures the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections in the country.
