Former Attorney-General Martin Amidu
Former Attorney-General Martin Amidu is demanding that President Mahama’s government publicly release the resignation letter of former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, following reports that she resigned from the Council of State last year.
According to him, the government owes Ghanaians full transparency on the matter, especially since she has reportedly not participated in Council activities since her resignation.
“The sovereign people of Ghana are entitled to the expectation that the government will exhibit the highest degree of probity, accountability, and transparency,” Amidu stated.
He argued that the continued silence from the government raises suspicion and could damage public trust, insisting that the resignation should not only be confirmed but also fully disclosed for public scrutiny.
