A 17-year-old student in his final year at Mfantsipim Senior High School in Cape Coast has reportedly died by suicide, according to the Central Regional Police Command.
The deceased, Emmanuel Arthur, was discovered in an uncompleted structure at Ola North in Cape Coast after a carpenter working at the site alerted authorities.
Police said officers responded to the report on June 11, 2026, where they found Emmanuel's body.
During a search of the scene, investigators recovered a black backpack containing study materials, including a Geography Paper 1 mock examination paper bearing Emmanuel Arthur’s name.

Two mobile phones, comprising an Android device and a basic handset, along with other personal effects, were also retrieved.
Officials of Mfantsipim Senior High School later confirmed that Emmanuel was a final-year student of the institution.
His family was subsequently notified, and after a pathologist at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital examined the body and confirmed that it was in an advanced state of decomposition, it was released to the family.
The abandoned building where the body was found was later disinfected, while the family took custody of the remains and proceeded with burial arrangements.
Police investigations have concluded that the student died by suicide, although the factors that may have contributed to the incident are yet to be established.
