Gospel musician Florence Obinim has disclosed that she once composed a campaign song for President John Dramani Mahama but was unable to release it after her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, advised her against releasing the song.

Speaking in a video shared by AskGH and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 17, 2026, the singer recounted how she was approached by a senior member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to produce a campaign song for the then-presidential candidate.

According to Florence, she initially told the politician that she would only proceed if she received divine inspiration for the song.

“I was approached by a top NDC politician to make a campaign song for President John Dramani Mahama. I told him that if God gave me the song, I would put it together for him,” she said.

She explained that after the request was made, she quickly found inspiration and completed the song within a few days.

“I believe God really loves Mahama because in just three days God gave me the song. I completed the song and decided to let my husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, review it,” she stated.

However, Florence said her husband did not support the idea and instructed her not to proceed with its release.

According to her, the politician who requested the song had assured her that all production and related expenses would be covered.

“The politician assured me that he would foot the cost of production and all expenses, so I produced the song,” she recalled.

Despite completing the project, Florence said the campaign song was never presented to the politician or released publicly because of her husband's objections.

“I composed a campaign song for President Mahama after a senior member of the NDC requested it, but I was unable to release it because my husband told me not to,” she revealed.

Her comments have sparked interest on social media, with many users expressing curiosity about the contents of the unreleased song and the circumstances that led to its cancellation.
