What latest GIA poll revealed about Ato Forson's chance to lead NDC in 2028

In the latest poll by Global Info Analytics, Ghana’s Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson has taken the lead among candidates ready to lead the National Democratic Congress as flagbearer.

Ato Forson polled 32.5% of the polls organized for the month of June 2026.

Followed closely are Asiedu Nketia and Haruna Iddrisu who polled 21.2% and 21.1% respectively.

Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, polled 8.5%, while Ghana’s Chief of Staff polled 7.5%.

The NDC is yet to open nominations for the party’s flagbearership race ahead of the 2028 elections.

However, Elders of the party have called on all persons interested in becoming flagbearer to desist from open campaigns as it is a distraction for the current government.
