Chris Boadi-Mensah is the CEO of National Pensions Regulatory Authority
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Chris Boadi-Mensah, has raised concerns about the growing role of pension funds in Ghana's capital market, stressing that only companies with strong governance structures and transparent operations will be able to attract long-term institutional investment.
Speaking at the listing ceremony of Kasapreko PLC on the Ghana Stock Exchange on Monday, June 15, 2026, he said the decision to become a publicly traded company comes with heightened expectations from investors, particularly pension funds that manage the retirement savings of millions of Ghanaian workers.
“By listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange, you have chosen accountability,” he stated.

According to him, institutional investors are increasingly prioritising companies that demonstrate sound corporate governance, consistent disclosures, and prudent management practices, as these factors provide greater assurance about the safety and sustainability of their investments.
He noted that as pension assets continue to grow, more opportunities will emerge for listed companies to access long-term capital, provided they maintain high standards of transparency and accountability.
Boadi-Mensah also stressed the importance of broad-based ownership and adequate market liquidity, explaining that successful listed companies are those that inspire investor confidence and encourage active participation in the market.
He further urged corporate leaders to focus on building sustainable businesses capable of delivering long-term value to shareholders rather than concentrating solely on short-term financial performance.
He also encouraged the management of Kasapreko PLC to remain mindful of the confidence investors have placed in the company and to safeguard that trust through responsible leadership and sound governance.
According to him, the success of listed companies ultimately contributes to the growth of Ghana's capital market and creates more investment opportunities for pension funds seeking stable returns for contributors.
“The trust placed in you by investors must be honoured through transparency, accountability and a commitment to long-term value creation,” he said.
