The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance which will cause outages in parts of the Greater Accra and Central regions.

According to notice shared by ECG on June 18, 2026, the exercise is to ensure critical infrastructure are maintained to improve electricity supply.

The statement indicated that residents and businesses in several communities within the Accra East and Central regions will experience temporary interruptions in power supply on Thursday, June 18, 2026, to allow engineers to carry out scheduled maintenance activities.

The Central Region, the maintenance exercise is expected to run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, affecting communities including Brimso Headworks, Akaikrom, Police Barrier, Ankaful Junction, Mpeasem, WAEC, Yayaaikawawo, Wanyiwato, Ankaful Prisons, and Ankaful Township. Other areas expected to be affected include Ayensodo, Kissi, Komenda, Sefwi Town, Dominase, Sekyere Hemang, Attabadze Town, Brenu Akyim, Eduagyei, Sanka, Bronyibima and Akwanda.

Meanwhile, residents of Tseaddo, West Trassaco, Trassaco Phase 2, Salem Estates and parts of School Junction in the Accra East Region will also experience outages between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm,

According to ECG, engineers have been deployed to address the faults, which have affected several communities and industrial enclaves, including Kpone, Communities 25 and 26, Afienya, Zenu, Jordan City, Mobole, Mataheko, Dodowa and surrounding areas.

The company assured affected customers that efforts are underway to restore supply as quickly as possible and appealed for patience as it works to resolve the challenges. ECG added that both the maintenance works and fault-repair exercises form part of measures to ensure a more stable and reliable power supply across the affected regions.
