A bizarre but touching gesture by a Senior High School graduate has captured the hearts of many on social media after he visited his late mother's grave immediately after completing his final West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) paper.

In a social media post sighted by GhanaWeb on June 18, 2026, the young graduate was seen arriving at his mother's graveside while still dressed in his school uniform.

The emotional visit, which has since gone viral, showed the student pouring champagne and laying a wreath at the grave as a tribute to the woman he credited for supporting his educational journey.

According to the caption accompanying the post, the young man headed straight to the cemetery after writing his final examination paper as a way of expressing gratitude to his late mother.

"An SHS graduate has moved thousands of people online after heading straight to his late mother's graveside immediately after completing his final 2026 WASSCE examination while still in his school uniform," the post read.

The gesture resonated with many social media users, who described it as a powerful demonstration of love, appreciation, and remembrance.

Although, his mother was not alive to witness him complete his secondary education, the graduate's actions suggested that he regarded the achievement as a shared victory and wanted to honour her contribution to his success.
