Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is a former CEO of MASLOC
Award-winning journalist and Newsfile host Samson Lardy Anyenini has questioned the handling of information surrounding former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe Attionu following reports about her detention.
His comments follow IMANI Africa President Franklin Cudjoe's announcement that Sedina Tamakloe was under arrest due to health concerns.
The matter later attracted further attention when government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu reportedly dismissed claims that she was under house arrest and maintained that she was in the custody of the Ghana Prison Service.
Reacting to the developments, Samson Lardy said the situation raises concerns about the flow of information from the authorities.
“Felix rubbishes the claim that Sedina is under house arrest, pointing back to his official statement that she is in the custody of the Prison Service,” he said.
The veteran journalist questioned why the Prison Service had not provided clear answers despite repeated enquiries from the media.
“So why is the Service toying with a matter of such significant public interest?” he asked.
According to him, journalists have been seeking confirmation on the matter for days but have not received definitive responses.
“Journalists have been seeking confirmation since last week, and all the officers keep saying is ‘we’re checking and will get back,’” he stated.
Samson Lardy argued that the issue is of public interest and deserves a more direct response from the relevant authorities.
“What kind of posture is this?” he added.
