Protect our judicial integrity! - Pressure group to CJ Baffoe-Bonnie

The People’s Forum has written to Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.

The group urged him to protect the independence and institutional dignity of the Judiciary.

The letter, signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye as Team Lead, focuses on what the group describes as the need to maintain clear boundaries between the Judiciary and the Executive.

It states, “Your Lordship, I write this letter with the deepest respect for the high office you occupy, with genuine concern for the health of our democratic institutions.”

The group says the Judiciary remains central to constitutional governance and must be seen to operate without external influence.

It adds that public confidence in the courts depends not only on judicial decisions but also on conduct that avoids perceptions of alignment with political actors.

The letter further references the expectations placed on the Chief Justice upon assuming office, including safeguarding separation of powers and ensuring accountability within the justice system.
