Netizens have taken to social media to react strongly to reports that former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo sustained injuries after armed men allegedly opened fire on her vehicle near the residence of her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

The online reactions come amid reports that at the residence of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, where supporters had gathered in connection with efforts to install him as successor to his late father and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, armed men allegedly opened fire on the former legislator, Adwoa Safo’s vehicle.

According to reports, tensions at the scene escalated, prompting police intervention from the Dome District Command.

It is further alleged that Adwoa Safo was present when armed individuals opened fire on her vehicle, discharging about 15 rounds, with one bullet reportedly grazing her neck.

She was rushed to a medical facility and is said to be in stable condition and responding to treatment.

The incident, which has triggered concern online, has also drawn criticism and emotional commentary, with many users expressing disappointment over what they describe as internal family disputes spilling into violence.

One netizen questioned the recurring theme of family members clashing over inheritance and property, writing, “It’s funny how siblings start fighting each other over their parents’ assets.

"The person who acquired all of it died and left it behind. My point is, they will leave it behind too. Hon. Adwoa Safo, speedy recovery wai.”

"They wanted to eliminate her."

Another user focused on questions around succession and legal arrangements within the family, asking whether proper documentation had been left behind.

The user wrote, “Succession ceremony? Like a monarch? Wait didn’t their father leave a will behind? Why are they resorting to guns?”

Others drew comparisons with past public family and estate-related controversies in Ghana, with one commenter referencing the late music icon Daddy Lumba, saying, “Daddy Lumba’s drama was preparing us for the real showdown. Sad.”

Another reaction highlighted disbelief that such tensions could escalate despite the level of wealth associated with the family.

The user stated, “Upon all the money and wealth they have acquired by themselves they still want to kill each other over money and properties without knowing if they go to sleep they will be able to wake up the next day. I’m surprised a lot of people do not think about that.”
