Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, son of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has called for unity among members as he assumes leadership of the church as the newly installed head of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.

In his inaugural speech as the newly sworn-in leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena urged members to remain united, especially in difficult times.

He encouraged them to rise above challenges and stay committed to preserving the legacy and good works of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

“If you are taking a shower and a madman picks up your cover cloth, you don’t have to run after him else you will be seen as the mad one. I will plead for unity, togetherness and love. That is what was used to nurture the church. Let’s remain together but let’s be vigilant. It is time for courage. I will support you, support me and pray for me as well,” Akofena said.

His appointment as the new leader was announced on Sunday, June 21, 2026, via the mission’s official Facebook page, alongside a video celebrating his elevation.

The post described the installation as a major milestone and prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I as he assumes leadership of the mission.

It further emphasised that the legacy of the founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, will continue to guide the church and remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

The development comes amid reports of a court injunction seeking to halt the installation process.

There were also reports of an alleged shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, daughter of the late inventor and clergyman, during the event.
