The much-anticipated second edition of GhanaWeb’s ‘A Walk with Dad’ event, an annual initiative celebrating fathers, fatherhood, and father figures in society, was successfully held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in an atmosphere filled with excitement, unity, and appreciation.
The event brought together tons of participants, including GhanaWeb staff, social clubs, fitness groups, sponsors, and individuals who shared in the vision of honouring fathers while promoting health and wellness.
The day began at the Ayimensa toll booth, where participants gathered and received specially branded GhanaWeb T-shirts before embarking on the challenging yet refreshing hike from Ayimensa to ‘The Lodge Tavern’ in Peduase.

With energetic music keeping spirits high and an ambulance team on standby for medical support, hikers tackled the mountain route with enthusiasm and determination. The journey was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a strong sense of togetherness.
Upon reaching Peduase, the excitement continued with an intense workout session led by fitness instructors. The session engaged participants in exercises designed to boost strength, health, and overall wellness.
The celebration also featured fun competitions and games, including a thrilling weightlifting challenge. Representatives from groups and sponsors such as H&H, Nana Shito, Twellium Industries, and GhanaWeb competed for honours and walked away with awards.
Participants were treated to refreshments, including chocolate beverages, tea, snacks, and other treats, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the rewarding experience after the physically demanding activities.
A highlight of the event was the special recognition of fathers who have demonstrated commitment, responsibility, and dedication in their roles as parents and guardians.
GhanaWeb’s ‘Editor-in-Chief’, Mr. Edward Smith Anamale, was crowned the overall “Best Dad,” while other deserving fathers received medals and rewards from sponsors in recognition of their impactful roles in the lives of their children and society.
Many participants also shared heartfelt messages to their fathers, husbands, and other father figures, expressing gratitude for the love, guidance, sacrifices, and support they have received over the years.
The second edition of GhanaWeb’s “A Walk with Dad” was proudly sponsored by Waylead, Smart Innovations, Twisco, Accra City Hotel, Sigma Export Promotion LLC, Verna, Rush Energy Drink, Donsey Kitchen & Grill, Nana’s Shito, Delfi Ventures, and Wholesale Hemaa.
