A motor rider identified only as Yaw has reportedly been beaten by a community police officer widely known as “Aboboyaa” at Suhum in the Eastern Region.
In a video circulating on social media, the unconscious rider was seen lying in the bucket of a police pickup truck in handcuffs.
According to information shared by The Newsroom on June 22, 2026, the rider was allegedly assaulted during the incident, leading to him losing consciousness.
The post accompanying the video read: “Calls for justice are growing after Yaw, an okada rider from Suhum in the Eastern Region, was reportedly beaten unconscious by a community police officer popularly known as 'Aboboyaa'."

It added that the victim remained handcuffed while unconscious, raising concerns among relatives and residents.
