The Black Stars will be aiming to secure victory by fielding their best players to compete fiercely against England on June 23, 2026, in the World Cup.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz will name his strongest starting lineup, taking into consideration the performances of players who came on as substitutes in the first game against Panama.

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is expected to keep the post, as Lawrence Ati-Zigi is battling for fitness following an injury.

The center-back pairing of Jerome Opoku and Jonas Adjetey is expected to be maintained after their brilliant performances in the first game.

Gideon Mensah and Marvin Senaya will also retain their positions at left-back and right-back respectively.

In midfield, Villarreal’s Thomas Partey will return to action and may be joined by Kwasi Sibo, with prodigy Caleb Yirenkyi sitting upfront to provide attacking support and continue his relentless runs.

In attack, Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante is expected to play on the left wing, while Antoine Semenyo occupies the right wing.

Team skipper Jordan Ayew is expected to lead the line as center forward, serving as the anchor man despite criticisms of his earlier performances.

The likes of Ernest Nuamah, Elisha Owusu, and Kamaldeen Sulemana, who started against Panama, are expected to be benched.

Probable XI: Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku, Marvin Senaya, Gideon Mensah, Caleb Yirenkyi, Thomas Partey, Kwasi Sibo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew.

Both teams are poised for victory, as the winning side will qualify for the next stage with three points each in Group L.
