Several passengers injured as vehicle overturns on Okponglo–Madina stretch

Several passengers sustained injuries after a commercial vehicle widely known as a 'trotro' reportedly lost control and somersaulted on the Okponglo–Madina stretch in Accra.

The news of the accident was shared on social media by The Newsroom on June 23, 2026.

According to the post, the vehicle was travelling along the busy corridor when it developed a suspected mechanical fault, leading the driver to lose control.

The vehicle then veered off its path and overturned, leaving multiple passengers injured in the aftermath.

Bystanders quickly rushed to the scene to assist victims before emergency responders arrived.

The injured passengers have been transported to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
