The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has appealed to the public to assist security agencies in tracking down a teacher of Bole Senior High School, who has gone into hiding after a viral video emerged of him engaging in intimate relations with a student of the school at a science laboratory.

Speaking in an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on June 24, 2026, he described the incident as worrying, especially given the position of trust teachers hold over students.

He said the teacher is currently being sought by law enforcement after the Ghana Education Service (GES) interdicted him following the emergence of the disturbing footage.

He urged members of the public who may have useful information on his whereabouts to support ongoing efforts to arrest him, stressing that the Ministry is treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

"If Ghanaians are listening and they can assist law enforcement to apprehend this teacher for engaging in that act, I believe it will be very helpful to all of us. We take a very serious view because of the dynamics involved.

“As a start, the minister has called the Director General of the Ghana Education Service to interdict the teacher. Our checks indicate that the teacher has gone into hiding. Law enforcement is also playing its part and he is being sought after,” Dr Apaak stated.

He further disclosed that the same teacher may have been involved in similar misconduct with other students, with additional videos reportedly circulating.

“We have seen other videos of the same teacher engaging in similar conduct with different girls, which means this appears to be something he has been doing,” Dr Apaak said.

The Deputy Minister emphasised that the teacher’s actions represent a serious breach of professional ethics and the code of conduct governing teachers.

While acknowledging that students also have responsibilities under school regulations, he maintained that the teacher bears greater culpability due to his position of authority.
