Police personnel were called to the scene after the alleged incident
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Seth Sabah Serwonoo-Banini, and the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have allegedly stormed the studios of Obaatanpa Radio in Kasoa to assault journalists.
According to multiple media reports, the incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The reports alleged that the MCE, accompanied by a group of thugs, stormed the premises of the radio station while discussions were ongoing about internal wrangling within the NDC.

The reports further indicated that the group locked up the building with their own keys.
Videos shared by Citi FM and Accra FM showed a heavy police presence at the radio station, with some staff members gathered outside the premises.
The video, however, did not capture the alleged thugs, nor the NDC executive and the MCE who are said to have orchestrated the incident.
Obaatanpa Radio has recently been discussing alleged internal wranglings within the Awutu Senya East branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly involving the Member of Parliament for the constituency and the party’s constituency chairman.
