Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah, says the corporation's €300 million partnership with Italian engineering firm DANIELI & C. OFFICINE MECCANICHE S.P.A. marks a major step towards building a fully integrated aluminium industry in Ghana.

Speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, June 26, 2026, Twumasi Ankrah said the agreement forms part of efforts to position Ghana as a leading aluminium manufacturing hub in West Africa.

"This partnership signals a strategic shift toward building a fully integrated aluminium value chain in Ghana. GIADEC will continue to partner with credible global firms to position Ghana as an emerging hub for advanced aluminium manufacturing in West Africa," he said.

DANIELI announced that it intends to invest approximately €300 million to establish an aluminium foil rolling plant and a Centre of Excellence at the Tema Integrated Industrial Park.

The facility is expected to produce between 40,000 and 45,000 tonnes of aluminium foil annually for both local and international markets.

The project is expected to create direct and indirect jobs, promote technology transfer and skills development, and boost Ghana's export competitiveness and foreign exchange earnings.

The aluminium foil plant will be developed within the Tema Integrated Industrial Park, a project being undertaken by ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms in partnership with GIADEC and Tema Development Corporation (TDC) Ltd.
