Former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Mayor Sam Pyne has suggested that the government could file a nolle prosequi during the appeal process involving former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe Attionu.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Pyne said such a move would not come as a surprise to him.

“Mark my words, the government may be planning to enter a nolle prosequi during the appeal process. I will not be surprised if she is eventually set free,” he said.

Pyne further alleged that the current developments could be part of a broader legal strategy.

“The question has been posed. Let it not be that she will be hidden and not taken to prison, then later they will want to use the law to enter a nolle prosequi during the appeal,” he alleged.

"That's what they want to do. It is giving way for speculations if they don't want to be transparent with us," he concluded.
