Carlos Queiroz has said the knockout stage of the World Cup will be much more intense as Ghana prepare to face Colombia in the Round of 32 after finishing third in Group L.

The Croatia national football team beat Ghana national football team 2-1 in Philadelphia, a result that sent both teams into the knockout stage but on different paths.

“I have just told my players that the real world championship starts in the next round,” Queiroz said after the game.

“The group stage is the warming-up and qualification for the next round is like a credit card but now you have to start paying. Everything goes to the winner, every game is drama, nobody can hide.”

Croatia will travel to Toronto on 2 July to play the second-placed team from Group K. Ghana will go to Kansas City on 3 July to play Colombia.
