Adehyeman Savings and Loans Company has announced plans to expand its newly launched digital financial service, Misika, to provide additional financial solutions for mobile money users with a merchant account nationwide.
Speaking after the launch of the service on Friday June 26, 2026, Chief Executive Officer of Adehyeman Savings and Loans, Joe Emmim, said the product was designed specifically to address a gap in financial services available to Mobile Money (MoMo) merchant wallet holders.
According to him, before the introduction of Misika, merchants operating MoMo wallets had limited access to credit facilities tailored to their business activities.
"There was no financing institution for merchants and those with merchant wallets. It was a gap, and we have come to handle that," he stated.

Emmim explained that the Misika product is unique because it uses the transaction activities on a merchant's wallet to assess creditworthiness, eliminating the need for traditional banking requirements such as collateral and bank statements.
"The Misika product is unique only to MoMo merchant wallet holders, and until we came in, there were no financial institutions providing that kind of service. So, we were the first to get in and we are in for the long haul," he said.
He noted that merchants seeking loans through the platform do not have to go through cumbersome processes often associated with conventional lending.
"We are using the activities on their wallet to underwrite the loan. They don't need to provide any collateral, they don't need to provide any bank statement, they don't need to provide anything that normally banks will ask. We are just looking at how active their wallets are and based on that we'll grant them a loan," he explained.
The CEO disclosed that the company is already considering enhancements to the service, including increasing loan limits and introducing additional financial products such as savings options.
"Now that we have started, we are also looking at increasing the limits and then also providing other financial services like savings," he said.
Emmim further revealed that Adehyeman Savings and Loans intends to extend similar services to other categories of mobile money users, including mobile money agents and subscribers.
"We are also looking at other holders of MoMo merchant wallets. For example, agents. There is still room to provide that service. And then lastly, the subscriber. They are still customers and that market is big. Those are new areas that we will look at going forward," he added.
The launch of Misika forms part of Adehyeman Savings and Loans' efforts to promote financial inclusion by providing accessible and convenient credit solutions for individuals and businesses operating within Ghana's growing mobile money ecosystem.
