The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has predicted continued rainfall of varying intensity across parts of the country, particularly along the coast and some inland areas, as heavy downpours continue to disrupt several communities in Accra.

According to a forecast shared on its official social media pages on June 29, 2026, "The rain, with or without thunder, of varying intensity currently affecting parts of the coast and a few inland areas is expected to persist throughout the forecast period amidst patches of mist or fog over the forest and mountainous regions."

It further explained that a weak to moderate rainstorm observed along the Togo–Benin coastline is expected to move westward, increasing cloud cover and triggering thunderstorms and rainfall over southern Ghana from the morning into the afternoon hours.

The warning comes as several parts of Accra and the Central Region (Kasoa) are submerged by floodwaters following hours of heavy rainfall that began late on Sunday, June 29, 2026, and continued into Monday morning.

Major roads and low-lying communities were submerged, causing significant disruption to traffic and daily activities.

Areas affected include the N1 Highway, Apenkwa, Tesano, Accra–Kasoa stretch, Weija, Mallam, Adabraka, Achimota, Spintex, Atomic (Madina), Kaneshie, Darkuman Junction, and parts of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, among others.
