A Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officer narrowly escaped being swept away by raging floodwaters while carrying out a rescue operation at Dabala Junction in the Volta Region.
A video shared on social media on June 30, 2026, by EDHUB shows the dramatic moment the fire officer struggled against strong currents while attempting to assist residents affected by flooding.

In the video the officer was seen battling the force of the water before being pulled to safety with the help of fellow emergency responders and bystanders.
The incident follows heavy rains which triggered floods across parts of the country, disrupting communities and transport routes.
