The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned of a rainstorm expected to affect parts of southern Ghana from the morning of June 30, 2026, to the afternoon.

According to the agency, thunderstorms and rainfall are likely to extend into portions of the middle belt later in the day.

In a forecast shared on its social media pages, it cautioned that the weather system could bring “moderate winds, reduced visibility, and possible localised flooding” in affected areas.

It further advised the public to “avoid sheltering under trees, stay clear of loose electrical wires, and do not walk or drive through floodwaters,” stressing the need for caution during the period of unstable weather.

GMeT urged the public to plan their journeys carefully and stay updated with official forecasts as conditions develop.

The warning comes amid ongoing seasonal rains, which have already triggered flooding in several parts of the country, particularly in low-lying communities with poor drainage systems.
