A woman and two children have been confirmed dead after they were found in floodwaters at Dome following the heavy rainfall on June 29, 2026, that caused widespread flooding across parts of the Greater Accra Region.

The victims’ bodies were recovered after rising floodwaters overwhelmed sections of the community, bringing the human cost of Monday’s floods into sharper focus.

The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

The latest fatalities come after torrential rains inundated several parts of Accra, including Alajo, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Weija and portions of the Mallam–Kasoa Highway.

The flooding submerged homes, left motorists stranded, disrupted traffic and caused significant damage to vehicles and other property.

Emergency officials have continued to urge residents in flood-prone areas to relocate to safer places whenever water levels begin to rise.

They have also warned the public against driving or walking through flooded roads, citing the danger posed by fast-moving water.

The Presidency has meanwhile advised Ghanaians to remain alert, comply with directives from emergency and security agencies, and call the national emergency number, 112, to report flood-related emergencies or request assistance.
