Watch as CCTV captures alleged thief driving away vehicle from Achimota garage

CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment an alleged car thief calmly walked into a car garage at Achimota-Abofu and drove away with one of the vehicles on display.

According to reports shared by Sikaofficial on July 1, 2026, the vehicle, a 2020 Toyota RAV4 with chassis number 2T3C1RFV2LC034394, was reportedly stolen without raising suspicion from the owners.

The footage shows the suspect walking into the garage, which was filled with parked vehicles, before approaching the Toyota RAV4. He allegedly managed to gain access to the vehicle without attracting attention.

After getting into the vehicle, the suspect remained inside for a few minutes before starting the engine and driving away.

The man was seen wearing shorts, a hoodie pulled over his head, and what appeared to be a white face mask.

Commentary accompanying the footage suggested that the suspect may have used a spare key to unlock and operate the vehicle, allowing him to leave the garage without causing any alarm.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and it is yet to be established whether the matter has been reported to the police.
