Kwabena Adu-Boahene was the National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General
An investigator with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Frank Marshall Cromwell, has revealed that investigators traced a whopping GH¢1.5 million transfer through company accounts of the accused, before the money was used to make payments to Mayfair Garden Estate, properties allegedly acquired by the former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene.
Testifying in court on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as the prosecution's fourth witness (PW4), Cromwell said the transfer formed part of EOCO's investigations into the alleged acquisition of properties connected to Adu-Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng.
According to him, investigators obtained payment records from Mayfair Garden Estate and matched them with bank transaction records.

He told the court that EOCO traced a GH¢1.5 million transfer from the UMB Bank account of BNC Communications Bureau Limited to Advantage Solutions before the funds were subsequently transferred to Mayfair Garden Estate.
He further said the transaction corresponded with one of the payment receipts obtained from the estate.
PW4 further testified that investigators later identified additional payments made through accounts linked to Advantage Solutions, Vertex Solutions and another company they associated with the accused persons.
As part of the investigations, Cromwell said EOCO officers, together with Adu-Boahene, his wife and their lawyers, visited Mayfair Garden Estate on March 21, 2025, where they confirmed the existence of seven properties allegedly linked to the couple.
He added that investigators also identified a 27-unit apartment complex at Oyarifa Delsize Park and another property at Dolchetser Heights in Asokore Mampong, all of which were subsequently made the subject of freezing orders obtained by the prosecution.
The witness further explained that investigators examined Adu-Boahen's salary records between 2017 and 2019 as part of efforts to establish his known sources of income.
According to him, the former NSB Director-General earned an average monthly salary of about GH¢5,000 in 2017, GH¢6,000 in 2018 and GH¢7,000 in 2019.
He said investigators compared those earnings with the assets identified during the investigations and concluded that the properties appeared inconsistent with the income they were able to establish.
Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, are standing trial over allegations that they misappropriated GH¢49.1 million in state funds.
The Attorney General alleges that funds earmarked for a cyber defence project were diverted through private companies linked to the accused persons before being used to acquire properties and other assets.
