‘I don’t know how her house spirits operate’ - Watch as tour guide refuses to put snake around lady’s neck

A tour guide at the Kumasi Zoo refused a request from a female visitor who wanted to have a snake placed around her neck, citing spiritual concerns.

According to the guide, whose identity was not revealed in a viral video, he declined the request because he believed taking such a risk could have unforeseen consequences.

Explaining his decision in the video, the guide stated that although the snake in question is generally harmless and does not usually bite, there was still a possibility that something unexpected could happen.

He said his concerns also stemmed from the lady's background and possible spiritual circumstances, which, in his view, could trigger the snake to react.

Speaking in the video, he said, “The snake doesn’t bite but when you put it around her neck, it might bite her and if that happens, who will be blamed?

“I once saw a vehicle that had an accident and got burnt beyond recognition but only a woman and her toddler survived. Everybody has different situations and problems at home. I don’t know the issues in her home and because I don’t know how the spirits in her house operate, I decided not to put the snake around her neck.”

“The snake doesn’t bite, but I won’t risk putting it around your neck because I don’t know how the spirits in your home operate. You may be the first person it will bite, so I don’t want any problem.”
