The late Apostle Kwadwo Safo (L) and Sarah Adwoa Adwoa Safo (R)
Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has stated that her late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, left behind a valid will, dismissing claims that he died intestate.
In a statement issued on July 3, 2026, while addressing the circumstances surrounding an alleged assassination attempt on her life, Adwoa Safo said issues relating to her father's estate would be handled in accordance with his wishes as outlined in the will.
"My dad did not die intestate. He left a valid Will, which I believe sets out definitive provisions for the administration of his estate, including his properties and inheritance, all of which will be properly addressed and given effect upon the formal reading and execution of same," she indicated.
She stressed that the ongoing dispute is not about inheritance, church property or any personal ambition to lead the Kristo Asafo Church.
According to her, her involvement stems solely from her late father's directives regarding the church's leadership and family affairs.
I’m only honouring my father’s dying wish, not fighting for church leadership — Adwoa Safo
Adwoa Safo explained that Apostle Kwadwo Safo amended the church's constitution in 2024 to remove Israel Kwadwo Safo as leader of the church and later installed her as leader of the Kantanka family in February 2025.
She said her father instructed her on his deathbed to ensure those directives were upheld, adding that she considers it her responsibility as his first child to honour his wishes.
Adwo Safo also reiterated that she has never sought personal wealth or benefit from her father's estate, describing herself as self-made and committed to living independently.
She maintained that justice must prevail not only regarding the alleged attempt on her life but also in ensuring that her late father's wishes are respected and implemented in accordance with the law.
