A video has emerged online of a woman beating a young girl with a piece of firewood in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The disturbing footage shared by CDR Africa on July 6, 2026, shows the woman repeatedly hitting the young girl believed to be her house help with a piece of firewood.

In the video the young girl who appeared to be frightened tries to protect herself from the blows.
The incident is said to have stemmed from the delay in completing a household chore.
According to the text accompanying the video, the woman was beating the young girl because she reportedly failed to fry groundnuts within a specific time.
It is however unclear if the incident has been reported to the police or if any action has been taken against the woman.
