Residents of Obeyeyie in the Amasaman area blocked the main road on Monday, July 6, 2026, in protest against the deteriorating state of roads in the community.
In a video shared by Channel One TV on Facebook, demonstrators brought traffic to a standstill as they demanded urgent intervention from both municipal and national authorities to rehabilitate the road network.
The protesters, using car tires, wooden sticks, and parked motorbikes, barricaded the road.

According to the video caption, residents say the poor condition of the roads has made commuting extremely difficult and unsafe.
“Residents of Obeyeyie in Amasaman have blocked the main road in protest over the poor condition of their roads. The demonstrators are calling on the authorities to urgently fix the deteriorating road network, which they say has made commuting difficult and unsafe,” the video captioned.
Comprising traders, commercial motorbike riders, and ordinary residents, the protesters highlighted years of neglect despite repeated calls for repairs.
The blockade has disrupted both local traffic and long-distance vehicles plying the route.
