Captain Smart is a Ghanaian media personality
Ghanaian media personality Captain Smart has stirred reactions on social media after making a series of claims regarding the re-arrest and possible extradition of socialite Abu Trica.
Speaking in a video circulating online, Captain Smart said that after he interviewed Abu Trica, many people who were unfamiliar with legal procedures speculated that the interview itself had led to the socialite’s extradition process.
According to him, the allegations against Abu Trica had been significantly reduced over time.
Captain Smart claimed that Abu Trica was initially accused of defrauding someone of $8 million, but alleged that the figure was later reduced to $15,000 before eventually being narrowed to five percent of that amount.

“They started from $8 million, saying he had defrauded someone. They scaled it down to $15,000, then five percent of $15,000,” he said.
Based on these assertions, Captain Smart argued that false allegations had been fabricated against Abu Trica in an attempt to have him imprisoned.
He further claimed that if Abu Trica is eventually extradited to the United States, he would be released and compensated because, according to him, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) does not possess evidence directly implicating the socialite.
Captain Smart said he had copies of documents relating to the case and maintained that the FBI was relying on information and documents submitted by Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
“If they extradite him to America, they will release him. They will also compensate him on top of it because the FBI said they have no incriminating information against him. I have the documents. They are acting based on the documents submitted to them by the EOCO of this country,” he stated.
The comments have since generated widespread discussion on social media, with many users expressing support for Captain Smart’s claims, while others have questioned the assertions and called for the legal process to take its course.
