The company said the current management had no role in the acquisition of the said property
Ghana National Gas Company has rejected claims that its current leadership acquired a property at an inflated price, describing the reports as false.
In a statement issued Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the company clarified that the property in question, No. 225 Osibisa Close, Airport West, Accra was purchased under a previous administration.
It is the same property flagged in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report for adverse findings.
“Ghana Gas wishes to state unequivocally that the current management had no role whatsoever in the acquisition of the said property. The property was acquired under the previous administration and was subsequently the subject of adverse findings contained in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report,” the statement read.
The company noted that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and other state agencies are already investigating the transaction, stressing that it is cooperating fully.
Ghana Gas also criticized sections of the media, urging journalists and the public to verify facts before circulating what it described as misleading claims.
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the company’s commitment to transparency and prudent management of public resources, a standard line, but pointed given the timing of the allegations.
