The Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced that several communities in Accra will face temporary water supply interruptions due to a 24-hour planned maintenance exercise at the Dodowa Booster Station.
According to a report by adomonline.com, the maintenance work will begin on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and is intended to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the water supply system.
The report further noted that GWL will temporarily shut down the Dodowa Booster Station to allow its engineering team to carry out the necessary works.

Customers in surrounding communities served by the facility may experience reduced water pressure or a complete interruption in supply during this period.
Affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, and several adjoining communities.
The company has advised residents in these areas to store sufficient water ahead of the exercise and to use available supplies judiciously.
GWL also assured customers that its engineers will complete the maintenance as scheduled and restore normal supply immediately afterwards.
“Management regrets the inconvenience this temporary interruption may cause and sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of customers as we undertake these essential maintenance works to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery,” the company said.
“Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and contact GWL for any urgent concerns during the maintenance period,” the report quoted GWL as saying.
