Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has been named the Lifetime Patron of ESIS)
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has been named the Lifetime Patron of Executive Senators International School (ESIS) following what the institution described as a historic visit to his residence.
The honour was announced after a delegation from the Kasoa-based school visited the former Head of State on June 25, 2026, to celebrate his enduring contribution to national development and leadership.
A commemorative citation by the school described Kufuor as "a statesman, a leader and a father of the nation," adding that his legacy continues to inspire generations of Ghanaians.
The citation read, "Congratulations as Lifetime Patron of Executive Senators International School."
One of the highlights of the visit was a touching interaction between the former President and a young pupil from the school.
During the visit, Kufuor, seated in his self-propelled wheelchair, was seen warmly welcoming the child before lifting the pupil onto his lap.
He then personally accompanied the pupil toward the school's bus while engaging in a cheerful conversation.
The visibly excited pupil appeared to enjoy the memorable encounter as the former President exchanged smiles and friendly remarks throughout the interaction.
The visit has since attracted admiration on social media, with many praising the former President's warmth, humility and affection for children despite his advancing age.
