The National Sports Authority (NSA)
The National Sports Authority (NSA) has concluded an extensive tour of FIFA World Cup stadiums and allied sports facilities in the United States as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana's readiness to host major international sporting events.
The delegation, made up of NSA Regional Directors and members of the Authority's technical team, undertook the study tour to observe global best practices in stadium operations, facility management and event organisation during the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after the tour, an NSA official said the visit was designed to expose the Authority to international standards that could be replicated in Ghana.
"The NSA is basically here to try and understand how things are done differently in a better way than we do back home. This is an opportunity for us to understudy what the best practices are when it comes to hosting events, facility management and how modernised these facilities are," the official said.
The official noted that many of the venues have remained relevant through continuous upgrades despite being built decades ago.
"If you recall, some of these facilities were built years ago, but they have been modernised to meet today's standards for hosting large events like the FIFA World Cup," the official added.

According to the NSA, the lessons from the study tour will be documented and presented to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to help shape future infrastructure and event management policies.
"The NSA is here to understand how these things are done, put together a comprehensive report that we will share with the Ministry, and we are hopeful that some of the lessons we learn here will be adopted and implemented," he explained.
The Authority believes the findings will be particularly useful as Ghana prepares to host the 2027 CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
"There's so much we've learned and so much we've seen. I can assure you that the comprehensive report we are putting together will really help the sports industry and the sports ecosystem in Ghana," he concluded.
