Ghanaian preacher, Reverend Dr Nanayaa Prempeh, has praised GhanaWeb's newly launched real estate platform, describing it as a credible initiative that will improve transparency and reduce fraud in Ghana's property market.
Speaking in an interview after the launch of GhanaWeb's maiden real estate platform on Thursday, July 9, 2026, she said GhanaWeb's long-standing reputation for credible information makes it the right platform to connect genuine property owners, licensed agents and prospective buyers.
She noted that although there may be attempts by fraudsters to abuse online property listings, the platform's credibility and verification processes would help restore confidence in the sector.
"For GhanaWeb, with the credibility and history of reliable information they have built over the years, this is a great opportunity for those of us in the real estate industry. It gives us a trusted platform to showcase our properties through a credible and affordable medium," she said.
According to her, the introduction of licensed real estate practitioners under the Real Estate Agency Act, 2020 (Act 1047), together with public education, will help buyers identify legitimate property agents and reduce fraudulent transactions.

"The public must understand that it's always better to deal with credible platforms where agents and brokers are verified. Today, the law requires practitioners to be licensed through the Real Estate Agency Council before they can engage in property sales, rentals or management," she explained.
Reverend Dr Nanayaa Prempeh further expressed optimism that technological innovations, including the barcode system for land registration, coupled with the work of the Real Estate Agency Council (REAC), would significantly reduce the problem of multiple sales of the same property.
"The days when one piece of land could be sold to three or four different people are gradually coming to an end. The barcode system and the licensing of industry players are making it easier for buyers to verify properties and deal with the rightful owners," she stated.
The real estate expert, who also serves as a board member and adviser to the President of the Ghana Real Estate Professionals Association, said the association remains committed to promoting good governance, transparency and compliance with the country's real estate laws.
"We believe in good governance, transparency and obeying the laws of the land. Joining recognised professional associations helps practitioners gain the right recognition while ensuring they operate within the legal framework," she added.
She also expressed confidence that the initiative would ease the stress associated with buying and selling properties while promoting ethical business practices across the industry.
"I'm excited for Ghana and for this great initiative. This platform will go a long way in reducing the stress in the industry while giving genuine professionals the opportunity to succeed the right way," she concluded.
