Fallen tree crushes vehicles, causes heavy traffic on 37–Kawukudi road

A huge tree has fallen onto several vehicles along the 37 stretch towards Kawukudi in Accra, causing significant traffic congestion and damaging a number of cars.

According to a report by Adomonline.com on Friday, July 10, 2026, the fallen tree blocked part of the busy road, disrupting the movement of motorists in the area.

Some vehicles parked or travelling along the stretch were trapped beneath the fallen branches, with several sustaining damage.

A man who narrowly escaped the incident expressed gratitude to God for his safety, the report said.

Personnel from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) arrived at the scene and are working to cut away the branches, free the trapped vehicles and clear the roadway.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible, exercise caution and cooperate with emergency responders as efforts continue to restore normal traffic flow.
