New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist, Kweku Osei Korankyi Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama over the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Speaking to GhanaWeb during a protest by the youth wing of the NPP on Monday, July 13, 2026, KOKA described the circumstances surrounding the arrest as unjust and accused the government of using state institutions to intimidate political opponents.
He questioned the president's commitment to justice, arguing that if authorities have a case against Aboagye, he should be formally charged and taken through the legal process instead of being subjected to prolonged detention.
"This is wrong. Whatever it is, if they are running after him, put him before a court, arraign him and file your charges. Let him go through the process," KOKA said.

He further alleged that the government's actions were an attempt to divert public attention from the country's economic challenges, insisting that such tactics would not succeed.
"Let there be no diversionary tactics. The economy cannot be diverted. What is this? It's wrong," he added.
KOKA's comments came during a demonstration organised by the NPP youth to protest the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye and what they describe as increasing political persecution of political opponents by the Mahama administration.
