Hearts of Oak place over $200,000 price tag on Benjamin Asare - Reports

Hearts of Oak are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee in excess of $200,000 for goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to reports, the Phobians have received growing interest in the Ghana international after his outstanding displays for the Black Stars in North America.

While a number of clubs are monitoring the 33-year-old, Hearts are understood to be demanding a fee above the $200,000 mark before considering any offers.

Asare enjoyed a breakthrough tournament in what was his first major international competition.

The Hearts captain established himself as Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper and produced a string of commanding performances, helping the Black Stars progress from a difficult group that included England, Croatia and Panama before their Round of 32 exit to Colombia.

His performances earned widespread praise and significantly boosted his reputation on the international stage.

The shot-stopper’s displays have not gone unnoticed, with reports indicating that clubs from abroad, including Saudi Arabia, have made initial enquiries over his availability.

Asare remains under contract with Hearts of Oak until June 2027, placing the club in a strong negotiating position as interest in his signature continues to grow.

Although his current estimated market value on Transfermarkt stands at €100,000, Hearts believe his World Cup exploits have significantly increased his worth and are seeking a higher transfer fee from interested clubs.
