Miracles Aboagye thanks fans while assisted to a car
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, NPP communicator and spokesperson for former NPP presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office after meeting his GH¢50 million bail conditions.
Aboagye's release follows three days of detention after he was picked up by EOCO officials at the Accra International Airport in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged financial and procurement irregularities during his tenure as Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation.
Videos captured by GhanaWeb on social media should Aboagye, clad in a white shirt being assisted as he made his way from the EOCO offices to a waiting vehicle while NPP supporters, who had camped outside the EOCO headquarters since the morning of July 13, 2026 cheered him.

His legal team had raised concerns that the GH¢50 million bail conditions were too stringent to be met within a short timeframe. EOCO has not disclosed the specific arrangements under which the requirements were eventually satisfied.
According to the anti-graft agency, the probe centres on the alleged misappropriation of approximately GH¢55 million during that period.
His release does not mark the end of the matter, EOCO confirmed that investigations into the alleged irregularities remain ongoing.
